It normally takes me half a day and more to teach the basics in my classes so it
is taught o try to do it here.  I suggest you go to the IBM Redbook site
(www.redbooks.ibm.com) and search for RPG.  The new RPG Redbook should show up
under the "Redpieces" title.  It has a complete tutorial on Subprocedures
including compilation etc. and you can also download the source code.
