I think it is fair to inform people on the easiest way to do things. Methods that are the current 'best practices'. If they are on an older release they have multiple choices: upgrade, move to somewhere that will upgrade, inform us that the method doesn't work with their release. Sorry to say, but even if they say they are on an older release I may suggest the current best practices. Why? Two reasons. One to show them that the function is available. Two, I don't have the time to research as to when the function became available. If they reply back that the function doesn't work then maybe I'll suggest an alternative. Hopefully Dave took my reply of 'suffer' as humor (as little as it was perhaps). Perhaps that is the reason for the one persons 'tone' message? infosys@klements.com on 12/24/99 08:33:32 AM Please respond to RPG400-L@midrange.com@Internet To: RPG400-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: Re: Trapping errors with CALLP? <snip> (It really frustrates me how people just assume you're running some variant of V4, and can use the newest versions of RPG) <endsnip> +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
