The regular command NSLOOKUP works in CL.

The bad news is that it is required to be interactive, but that may be
enough for your needs?

The CL I used to test it is:

PGM /* must be interactive..... */
/* This Program does NSLOOKUP */
             DCL VAR(&IP1) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(50) +
                          VALUE('www.midrange.com')
             NSLOOKUP HOSTNAME(&IP1)
             ENDPGM

and the response I got was:

"Nonauthoritative answer:
 Name: midrange.com
 Address: 206.239.161.179
 Aliases: www.midrange.com

Press ENTER to end terminal session."

Subject: Host name associated with an IP address

Hi!
Its possible to know the host name associated with an IP address, in a CL
or an
RPG/400 pgm ?
Is there any API that can do this ?

Any help would be great.

TIA,

Silvio.
