The Pass directive simply says to the HTTP server "Yes, you can get documents in this location." The Exec directive says to the HTTP server "Oh, I see you are storing CGi programs in this location. Also, you want to allow access to this location." The second portion of each directive is the physical location on your machine. The first part is the virtual location. So, when someone requests a document at http://www.your400.com/democgi/ You will be viewing a member, which most likely contains straight HTML. And the pass directive you give only allows access to one member, CGIHTML.MBR. When someone requests documents at http://www.your400.com/cgibin/ they are requesting to run CGI programs that the location is mapped to, in this case the RPGISCOOL library. My advice, don't just put in the samples and if they work say "cool". Understand what they are doing. Secondly, buy my book when it comes out if February (shameless plug). It should help a lot with HTTP setup, configuration, and CGI programming. :) You can do a lot of neat stuff with RPG and the web. Bradley V.
