Your question:

I am looking for any info anyone has on this program. it is used to send a
message to qsysopr telling the operator what tape to load for the backup
schedule. I want to take the name of the tape to be loaded and place it in a
data structure.

Or if any one can tell me how to get what tape is to be loaded some other way it
would be much appreciated.

Thanks Chris Beck

I have a procedure which runs using a driver file containing a number of parms
based on the user's choice for running restores(which group of data to
restore, etc - G/L,Sales, whatever). When the file data matches the job parms,
I'll send a break message to the operator's console telling them which tape to
mount. If that errors(not signed on), I'll send a USRMSG to *SYSOPR so they'll
get it when they sign back onto the system. I haven't used the API you
reference, but this is one technique that works.
