I went back to Rochester for an IBM class and this is how they wanted us to program. No subroutines, repeat the code as often as necessary but keep it TOP DOWN. No subroutines - period. I came back from the class and told my boss that it was the biggest waste of time/money, even though IBM paid for the class! Apparently and unfortunately, a lot of people believed that that was the way to program on the 38. After all, IBM said so. All because the 38 was dog slow when it first came out.
