This is exactly what I was looking for.  Dang, I love this list.

I wound up just modifying my MDYDateToReal subroutine
to do such:

                      Eval           RealDate = *LOVAL
*MDY           TEST(D)                           MDYDate            80
                      If                NOT *In80
*MDY           MOVE       MDYDate       RealDate
                      EndIf

and where I was doing a comparison and a lot of temp vairable
swapping I was able to change it to:

                      If                 RealDate > D'1999-11-01'
