Hmmm...  well, a few things jump into mind, tho they may not be true
in releases of OS/400 past V3R2, but I would assume that they are:

    1) CRTBNDxxx can't bind to a module or service program directly,
            you must go through a BNDDIR...
    2) CRTPGM can't specify DFTACTGRP(*YES), so anything in the
            default activation group was done with CRTBNDxxx

Other than those two things, I'm wondering why it makes any difference
whether CRTBNDxxx was used, or whether CRTxxxMOD/CRTPGM was used?
It seems to me that the results are the same...
