I use FTP all the time to go from a stream file to my PC and vice/versa:
put c:\autoexec.bat /QOpenSys/autoexec.bat   (IFS) -or-
binary
put c:\autoexec.bat /QDLS/BUCK/AUTOEXEC.BAT (Folder)

If you want to put the stream file into a traditional DB/2 database file,
you must go to/from a flat file - no DDS.
