        The easiest way to get the RRN of a non keyed PF is to use the RECNO
keyword in the F spec while defining the PF and defining a field for the RRN

        Eg.
        FFilename    IF  E                    DISK

        F                                              KRECNO RRNO


        Where RRNO is the name of the RRN field. Each time a record is read,
RRNO will give you the RRN of that record which could be stored in the
hidden field within your subfile.
