Hello Colin,

That's merely luck.  It is a sloppy practice.  You are walking a tightrope 
across a bottom-less 
chasm, with razor-blades on the walls and the flames of hell beneath.

You are telling the API to walk over storage you have allocated for other 
purposes that happens 
to follow on from your one-byte field.  One day you'll pay the price.
