Why?  Because of a bug.  It's fixed for V4R2 and V4R4 in the compiler (but
not SEU) by these PTFs:
  V4R2M0  SF58249
  V4R4M0  SF58563

Have you tried the online APAR database?

Search "All Apars" for EXTNAME and you'll find this as the first APAR.
