FEmpFile IP DISK C IF EmpNo < 555 C [Do something here] C ENDIF That's the quick and dirty way to do it if you don't have a key. This will read a lot of records it doesn't have to from the file, though. If you are keyed on EmpNo there are a few other things you can do. FEmpFile IP DISK C IF EmpNo < 555 C [Do Something Here] C ELSE C EVAL *INLR = *ON C ENDIF This still uses the RPG cycle to read the records, but once it hits an employee number greater than 555 it will end the program. There are many, many, many other ways to do the same thing. It depends on what your key is basically.
