Hello Dave,

And the not so insignificant difference that CHAIN returns the data and SETLL 
doesn't therefore 
if you are only checking for existence use SETLL with the EQ indicator.  If you 
want the data 
then use CHAIN rather than SETLL and READE -- even on the 'normal' file 
processing loop -- 
unless you are not looking for a matching record.
