I was referring to a method to signal a never ending program (NEP) to wake
up, rather than have it do a DLYJOB. This is can be done very easily with a
data queue or message queue, even in a C/L program.

If you need to pass data to a NEP then it's a matter of preference, although
I have never had any problems with using a data queue. It seems like there
would be a lot less overhead, since there is no record locking or access
path maintenance to worry about.
