Joel,

Much simpler just to code an unconditioned LEAVE immediately after the DOW
or DOU. Also gives a tremendous performance boost and saves all that
tiresome program testing. :-)

I find that setting on LR in the *INZSR helps conserve machine resources.

The thing I usually do is in a program that is based on a read loop with a
priming read is to condition the loop to look for the end of file indicator
*ON.  I.e. dow *in99 = *on.  Those always run really fast.
