I just talked with our system dude, and he said this.

To have more than one partition, you need multi processor.  But, you can
only have one _active_ partition per CPU.  So, on a dual processor, you have
have 4 partitions but only two can be active.  Well, only one since you have
to have the main parition running anyhow.
