Its not a paramter mis-match is it. e.g. you are passing a parameter
that is shorter than expected, so some of the variables in your calling
program are
being corrupted by the called program. 

Any time I have done this, I get the sort of wierd error that you
describe.

Machine dump, pointer not referenced. I would have to recreate the
program to cause it to dump. But its very strange....
