The problem with shareware (which is a very good way of distributing
software), is that no-one else can learn anything from the techniques
that have been used.

Very good for end users who want free software, but useless for
developers who want to learn new skills.

Bob,

Is it your intention that this code should all be freeware, or are you
happy
to offer shareware too? If so, would the open source code condition
still
apply?

Actually,

There is an RPG IV website. It is www.rpgiv.com

I am fully willing to add a section on user-written code to it, provide
these conditions are met:

 1) Full source code is provided.
 2) Full use rights are granted to the public in writing (in the source
or
attached text file is fine).
 3) Users agree to indemnify the author of the code, RPGIV.com and
anybody
else.
 4) It is "as is" without warranty of any kind or for any purpose.
 5) No dependence on rare 3rd-party software is integrated into the
code.
(That is if it needs product X in order to work, product X can only
be a
very widely used piece of code. For example, Rexx routines for Code/400
would not be considered widely used.)

I've offered this before, but few people have replied and fewer offer
code.
