Thanks Scott and Buck for the PTF's.  I'll try those Monday.  I also found a
reference on a NEWS400 Forum saying PTF SF56021 would fix it.  We loaded
that one today to no avail.  On further experimenting, we also found that
%ERROR and %FOUND  are also not working in service programs, though not
consistently.  We can put the indicators back on and they come on, but the
BIF's do not.  All of this code was working fine until we starting replacing
indicators with the BIF's.  All the posters in the Forum were recent (since
June 15th), so this may be a new problem.

To the rest of you members of the short-attention-span-theater, the question
was about Indicator BIF's in service programs, not do loops. I don't want to
get that thread going again. The code submitted was to show that after the
very same read, the numeric indicator came on, the %EOF came on, but the
%EOF(Filename) did not.
