Lisa, There is nothing to be nervous about, I use Code/400 both locally and through a remote connection every day. I have used several other products and SEU, and I am very convinced Code/400 is the best tool available. It is not perfect, but it does allow you to take better advantage of your resources. For example, I use a 21" monitor, and with SEU I am restricted to 24 lines on a display. With Code/400 I can view over 80 lines in a more readable format. I am one of the ones who really likes the Code/400 debugger. I don't use it every time (probably about 10% of the time) because it is overkill in most situations. You can save your setup so when I have something that requires a lot of repeated setup I use it. Last year I had a bug that took about two days to isolate. It required that I constantly monitor hundreds of variables as hundreds of procedures were executing. In that case I am sure I saved at least a day. David Morris >>> "Lisa Abney" <abney@iquest.net> 06/16/99 06:40AM >>> David ... Your comment on Code/400 makes me very nervous. I saw several demos of Code/400 at Commons last spring, and a fellow employee saw similar demos at the MidRange Connection conference last week. We both were really impressed with the product, and are ready to bring it in for a demo. I know I've heard a lot of negative things about it in the past, but the new release (I think it's V3R2Mod1 now) supposedly addresses all the past problems. What version are you working with, and does anyone else have opinions on the new release?
