Application Development Tools:


Screen Design Aid (SDA),Source entry Utility(SEU), Data File Utility(DFU)& 
Program Development Manager(PDM) are the important components of the the 
application development tools licensed program package.

With SDA:

Design &/or Modify : a. Display record formats

                     b. Application Menus
                     c. Subfiles

Generates:   a. DDS source specifications
             b. Display file


To design a display file use command STRSDA from the main menu & try various 
options available.



Data File Utility(DFU) : Generates interactive program

Maintain a file :  update/add/delete
Display file record(read only)
No programming language


To activate DFU  Use command STRDFU from the main menu.Other associated 
commands:
CHGDTA
DSPDTA
UPDDTA


Program Development Manager(PDM):

Work with Libraries  - can save ,restore,delete ,create &rename.
Work with objects- can save ,restore,delete ,create &rename.
Work with members - Can select members from a file in a library& then 
create,delete rename,save..

Use command STRPDM from the main menu & try out the options.



Source Entry  Utility(SEU) : the data description specifications are entered 
using the SEU.SEU facilities include 
insert,delete,copy,move,prompting,syntax checking & other important 
functions.

Use command STRSEU from the main menu & try out the options.




            PDM      LIBRARY/OBJECTS/MEMBERS


PF/LF      ----->SEU -------------->SOURCE FILE


DISPLAY SCREEN  -----> SDA---------> DIPLAY FILE /MENU


ORDER 'ORDER_NO= 23 ------>DFU ----------> ORDER FILE.
