Buck, I tried your trick with the non-blocking i/o control and could not connect to the server. The error message that caused my program to abort was, "Operation in process...". I don't think it will do what I want it to do. I am going to try the select to see if the server is ready to accept data, then again to wait for a response. Thank You! Christopher K.
