Perhaps you have used indicators unnecessarily when it would suffice to use flags. Also you can setoff the indicators once they are used for a specific purpose.It is also possible to reduce the indicators once you restructure the code and make it more modular.If the indicators are used in the display file dds then I guess there are two alternatives: 1. Use OR/AND options on indicators 2. Call another program (which uses another display file) so that this would help in clashing of indicators( of course U need to initialise them properly to avoid confusion).
