Just an observation, but...

You guys are both right that DOU checks at the bottom, and DOW
checks at the top of the loop.   However, if you look at the original
code posted by JFinney@omnia.co.za, again, specifically this section:

 C                   DOU       RECARR(X) = *BLANKS
 C                   EVAL      X = X + 1
 C                   CLEAR                   TESTLEN
 C                   EVAL      TESTLEN = %LEN(%TRIM(RECARR(X)))

 C                   IF        RECARR(X) = *BLANKS
 C                   LEAVE
 C                   ELSE

You see tht he does an IF with a LEAVE in his loop, therefore
this SHOULD work the way he intended it to.  In fact, he could've
coded his DOU to say "DOU  1 = 2", and it wouldnt have made any
difference :)
