Will Sequel also > build files suitable for downloading into Excel? Sequel can build the actual Excel file. You just need access to a shared folder or networked drive on the 400 to get to it after it is created. Or I believe the newest version can e-mail it you. Lucky you for having Query-capable users. We have only one here that uses Query with any regularity. He is happy with that, so we haven't shown him Sequel yet. So Sequel is mainly a programmer's tool here, but from my experience with it, anybody comfortable with Query should have very little trouble learning Sequel. I love it, the only time I use Query anymore is to run an old one that hasn't been converted yet. The capabilities are pretty much the same, I just find it easier to get the specs in with Sequel, especially with complicated selection criteria where ( )'s come in very handy. The report writer also gives you complete control over the format of the report. And then there is the tabler module. You should get a trial of it and check it out. It has become an indispensable tool here. Rick * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the RPG/400 Discussion Mailing List!
