This is a map to the fields that have the NULL attribute set.  If you use 
SQL, you probably are familiar with something like SELECT * from TABLE 
where COLUMN NOT NULL.  It is this NULL attribute I'm talking about.  If 
you aren't using SQL, or you have DDS'd files and haven't specified ALWNUL 
you don't have to worry about the null map.  You can't use these bytes for 
anything else, either.
