This technique works... but the override will only live for the life of the 
call level... which happens to be while the program is executing.

Usually, that technique is used for user controlled files (files that are 
opened and closed by the program)... so the sequence would be.

Program starts
Execute override
open file
process file
close file
delete override
Program ends
