Well one of your problems is that you are attempting to handle "real" dates
in an RPG III program.  I suggest you change it to RPG IV and use
compatibility mode to have it run the same as the old program.  Then all
you need do is define the a date field in your RPG program that is defined
as initialized to *Sys.  Like this:

 D SystemDate                                       D    Inz(*Sys)

There's no need for any CL at all.
