Hi everyone! I'm back. i was gone cuz my ISP went down & so i had to go find a new one. $11/mo for unlimited access? not bad if i do say so myself... anyway i'd like to address the comments below.. ---Dave Mahadevan <mahadevan@fuse.net> wrote: > > Michael: > > As another instructor of RPG, I wholeheartedly endorse your idea. I Dave, my personal experience includes using manuals/texts also. problem is, i dont have many of them and the ones i have usually don't address the problems i ask. definitely feel that point > blank questions like how does the CL pgm know which file with &FILE parm really > means the person is not reading the book. I am all for helping a student but it > should be done after some efforts by the student. Otherwise how do we learn? > Just my 3 cents. i can't go into why my situation could/would be different than what you described above. all i can say is that no one has to answer my questions if they don't want to. i'm learning by way of this list (immensely) my text, and the online library of as400 manuals, which helped me in doing my overlay on my own i might add. besides, reading the book doesn't necessarily mean, a person will get it, no matter how much they cram. i'll be back in a few..
