  • Subject: DB@400 to tab delimited flat file

Hi all. We are finding the AS400's FTP features very useful for
transmitting and converting database files to ASCII systems. The EBCDIC
to ASCII conversion done by the PUT subcommand converts the file to a
field delimited format.

My problem is that I need my send file to arrive tab delimited. Is
anyone aware of any features of the FTP subcommands that will accomplish
this? If not, is there some free utility / cmd to preprocess the file
before sending? I know I could write a RPG program to do it, but
thought there must be an easier way.
