In my case, I was lambasted (by the sorely missed Simon Coulter of Australia)
for not providing full disclosure of my credentials when I first got on the
list almost two years ago.  Although I am as desperate for good personnel as
everyone else on the list, I know the rules and never ask for work or people.

To continue your analogy, what is the difference between posting a position
and the inclusion of a vendor name (IBM, Help/Systems, Rally, to name a few
that post here)?  I would not forego their input in order to maintain a false
sense of "purity".  No offense taken, but I would rather know where people
stand than take opinions not knowing from whence people speak...
