Anyone remember the SETI@home project? This was a project that would let home computer users download software that would do data analysis of space signals to try to identify patterns and, maybe, intelligent life.
While SETI@home has been shut down ... there's a new project, sponsored by IBM, that that aims to help researchers with scientific research by sharing spare computing power.
One of the sub-projects is to help researchers at the Scripps Research center do molecular modeling simulations.
I'm participating in this and have created a midrange.com team.
