I am having an occasional problem/issue with my Firefox browser, which is
up-to-date.

Sometimes, when I try to bring something up in a new tab, it just sits
there. I.e., just a white screen and the status bar at the bottom does not
show any activity, such as, "Waiting for." or "Transferring.". I close the
tab and try again. It sometimes takes several (3+) attempts to get the
desired link to load.

I have not found any consistency.

I could be coming from a link in an email, such as found in a Midrange-L
message.

I could be selecting an item on a Google search.

I could just be opening a new tab and keying a URL or selecting one from my
history.

I sometimes right-click on a link and select 'Open in new tab'.

I wondered if anyone else is/has experienced this anomaly and/or has a
solution or suggestion. So far, it has not caused any critical problem, but
it sure is annoying when it happens.
