Subject: [PCTECH] FTP server quit working
All,
Posting this in case someone can think of something I haven't.
Data files on our IBM i (7.1) are journaled. A couple of times a day the
journal receivers are changed and the detached journal receivers are FTPed
to 2 desktops (mine and the office manager's) on the LAN.
Both desktops are Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Both are running FileZilla
server. Been running fine for years.
Within the past 2 weeks, both desktops were removed from the Windows domain
and placed in the same Windows workgroup. (Domain user profiles were also
moved to local profiles on the respective desktops by people smarter than
me.) The detached journal receivers are continuing to successfully FTP to
my desktop, but not to hers. File and print sharing is turned on at her
desktop. FileZilla FTP server IS running on her desktop.
I tried connecting to her FTP server from both the IBM i command line and
from my desktop using the FileZilla client. Neither will connect, leading
me to think the issue is at her desktop.
The only difference when removing her desktop from the domain is that we
had to change the NAME of the desktop to avoid conflict with her username.
The IP address did not change and FTP connects via IP address.
Could the name change have caused this? Any ideas appreciated.
