Hi group,
This morning my work laptop (HP Zbook) greeted me with "you have updates available".
I proceeded to install what later turned out to be the infamous Creator's update, build 1703.
After some time, windows started up again and I noticed some disturbing things.
Anything relying on the java runtime environment (version 8 build 121) would crash, either immediately or when clicking on a button or menu option.
Most annoyingly, this impacted ACS too.
I could start one session from the session manager, I could even start a second one from the session manager, but when I clicked on "run other" from the toolbar, it would crash.
Same for SquirrelSQL: I could start the program, but if I double-clicked a connection, it would crash.
After rolling back to build 1607, life is good again, so I'm quite sure the culprit is something in the Creator's update.
Has anybody successfully upgraded to this build (meaning that ACS and other JRE-dependant stuff still works)?
If not, then this is a friendly warning: if you can avoid installing it, do so. If you installed it and you're experiencing problems, there's a rollback function under control panel / update & security / recovery.
Met vriendelijke groeten / Best regards,
