Well, it's not really like midrange.com at all, but a good resource
these days is anything in the Stack Exchange family of sites. I guess
in your case the most applicable would be Server Fault
(http://serverfault.com/).
You can't really ask open-ended questions or ask for broad
recommendations among competing products on those sites. What you can
do is ask for objective answers to specific questions or solutions to
specific problems. So maybe a lot of what you're looking for, Stack
Exchange doesn't provide. But if you have a question that fits the
format of the site, it's one of the best places to ask.
