Thanks, Paul, Vern, and David. I thought it was a right-click away -
somewhere. My icons are so close together down there that I had to hold my
breath while I eased the pointer around.

Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Notification Area Icons

(Right click somewhere between the icons and select properties then select
'Customize Notification icons')

Uncheck 'Always show all icons...'
Then customize the ones to show.

Just out of curiosity, how do I get rid of an item in my System Tray?
Specifically (if it makes any difference) MS has put an item there for
Windows 10 (I'm at 7, fyi).
