There are several laptops on the market now for under $200. Even
Refurbished laptops for under $150.
IBM i Access Client Solutions will run almost anywhere (downside is it needs
a newer JAVA install) and is where IBM is putting its development efforts
(System i Navigator is all but dead now)
I have Access running on my iPad as well.(Cisco VPN)
If you set up 5770-XH2, (now included with the IBM i Access LPP) you can get
to your machine without a client after starting the VPN.

Not familiar with wireless options. Once vpn connected then remote desktop
