I have a nook and I have successfully loaded other types of documents on it.
I used caliber - E-book management software to convert other types of books.
It works pretty good.

but....that market is changing almost every week, so current reviews are
fairly thin.

The various ups and downs are really hard to determine and when you start
talking about the o/s of the tablet, you are never sure which version of
Android you might be getting.

The Nook seems to lock you in VERY tightly with B&N company.
The Kindle Fire seems to lock you into Amazon, etc, etc.

The support level for these products is **zero** which is what
$200 products get.

Can't seem to find a good place that compares tablets, with the

I found lots that sort and compare on features...
The situation is, we do like the features and price point of the nook
tablet (8GB, $199), but I would rather not be "locked down".
I see some $199 ICS (Android 4.0) tablets, but am not finding any good
reviews.

any ideas?
