Is there some shareware which will do speed tests piped to disk?

I am thinking of something which may record something to a .txt file like
MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS Upload xx,xxxKB Download xx,xxxKB

Then I could change the pipe to append and not overwrite.

Trying to record when upload/download speeds go to pot.
