I have never run across this sort of problem before.
I have a Lexmark X466DTE, which is a
(a) printer
(b) scanner
(c) fax
It is setup on the lan as both a pc printer for pc apps
and as client access printer using standard devd
conventions. It just perfect for Iseries print jobs
and they love for that.
These folks want to migrate to laser checks(pre-printed)
and that's not a problem for me.
The problem is pc printing that is directed to this printer
from somewhere on the lan.
I was doing some sample runs and of course somebody sent a
print e-mail job which pulled from the drawer where the checks
are going to be located.
How do you take total control of a printer that allows pc
printing on the Iseries printer. They also are going to be
receiving lots of faxes during this process and I'm not sure
how all this is going to work.
I do have two drawers available and I think that might be the
answer. Put the checks in drawer 2 and print from there, but
that doesn't "lock the printer" from other print jobs until I
start printing my checks.
Any suggestions ???
