I am going Kindle. Yes, lack of ePub is a minus, however, Kindle has/will have an API for apps. It would not be difficult to create an ePub app after that. The other option is an iPad, then format/store no longer matters (of course at 3x the price).

My wife has a Nook now and likes it. The battery life is good. Plus we don't read the same type of books and I figured that way we can get a book on the other store if the primary store doesn't have it.

I was looking at this for a friend recently. I came away leaning towards
Kindle as the devices get better battery life (weeks v. days/hours) and your
content is available on multiple platforms. The Nook may handle
multiplatform but I didn't see anything about it when I was looking
(admittedly I wasn't all that thorough).

This past summer I remember seeing some conversation in regards to ebook
readers. I'm looking to buy one soon. I've whittled the choices down to
either the Kindle or Nook and would like to get some feedback from
current owners.

I'm tending towards the Nook due to it's support of ePub but the Kindle
seems to be winning the volume battle. Your thoughts?
