What do you use to keep track of static IP addresses? We use an ExcelYou might find arpwatch an interesting tool. It keeps track of Ethernet MAC-adresses seen on the network in the arp cache. I don't know if it is available for the i, but you may want to have a small Linux box simply for surveiling your network.
