Wanted to update the thread for the archives.

I tried for a second time to create a install/boot CD using nLite but without success.

I located a WinXP SP2 CD and was able to use it to enter the recovery console. Interestingly it asked for the admin password but had on problem signing me on. Once there I was able to browse the C drive which I hadn't been able to do previously. Apparently the SATA drivers are on this CD.

I can't use REGEDIT to edit the registry from here but I seem to remember seeing something on Microsoft's sight about using REG to update the registry in a batch file. That's what I'll be trying today.
