When I upgraded my wife's Vaio, we used the free Win7 upgrade DVD (the
laptop was bought this summer so we were entitled to Win7 free). Sony's
fulfillment house sent a driver CD along with it that contained the
supplemental stuff.

I'd suggest http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/os7upgrade.pl?template_id=1 or
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER&PRODTYPE=24as
a starting places to d/l the drivers & apps ahead of your upgrade.
Don't
forget to run through the Win7 upgrade advisor at
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor .

John or anybody jump in

I just finished reading thru the Win7 custom installation tutorial you
directed me too.

One question I have, I know there should be more questions, but my brain's
a muddle today.:

I have a Viao laptop, which came preinstalled with other pgms that are
supplied by the Viao people. What happens to those?
Probably wouldn't work with Win 7?

I guess since they need internet they won't mess with my aol?

Cool how Win7 doesn't support Win Mail or Outlook Express.
