Hewlett-Packard bought Compaq.
I had thought it was HP, but couldn't remember for sure. Dell was a
V-WAG (Very-WAG) in case HP was wrong.
But also odd is a parallel vague memory connection between
CDetectPNP and Compaq. Scott's mention of it is what goaded me into
bringing up Compaq's journey to whatever it is now. I have an old
Compaq, and I'd thought CDetectPNP had shown up on it at one time.
It's long since been re-imaged, etc.

Wasn't Compaq bought by someone else a few years ago? (Dell???)
