I also have been using the Beta and RC on multiple machines for the last
several months. I was very impressed that I was able to install it on
an Acer Aspire One netbook and that it performs very well.

Here in the office, we currently run XP Pro with a smattering of Vista.
I would like to get us switched to Win 7 as soon as it's available.

But, with the powers to be and the economy, might just for now have to
leave it be.

It's my hope that we'll be able to convert to Win 7 in 2010. If we do,
it will mostly be x32. I haven't looked into the licensing options yet.
I have a very small network of just 20 clients, so not sure if SA would
even be cost-effective.

Subject: [PCTECH] What's your take on Windows 7?

Hi All,

So i've been running Windows 7 at home since January, and Windows 7 at
work since May.

We've started internal test deployments, testing out the new
deployment toolkit, software compatibility, and we're planning to
deploy the final version to select users as soon as it's available.
We're seeing amazing feedback from users that *really* want to work
with the new Windows version.

This all sounds good and well, but we're a Microsoft partner and most
of the people i know and talk to are also mostly in Microsoft oriented
shops.

So i'm interested on YOUR opinion, in order to make sure my opinion on
how the market views Windows 7 isn't too biased.

Have you tested Windows 7? The Beta? The RC? How far did your test
deployment go?
Are you considering deployment of Windows 7? If so, when?
What version of Windows 7 are you planning to deploy? x32 or x64?
Do you intend to purchase SA in order to use advanced features from
the Enterprise edition like Bitlocker? Are you going to purchase SA
for the reimaging rights?
What Windows OS are you currently running?
If you're not planning to deploy Windows 7, why? Are there critical
apps that don't work?
How are you planning to deploy Windows 7? Buy new computers? Deploy
images using WDS/WAIK to existing machines? Manual install?

I'm also interested in any thoughts on the subject.

Regards,

Lukas
