Dan,
it seems not only you, but also many of us had same problem some time along our lives.
I once hat the same, so I searched but no luck.
I just searched now, upon receiving your post, googled for "excel links mass modification", and found some, this link is one of them

http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.excel.links/browse_thread/thread/a6fcd2e7fae281a9

In the last answer to that post, someone named Bill Manville may have an answer... but no direct contact but thru the newsgroup...
Though I don't have the need at present, it would be good to know if the utility he mentions is readily available...
Just keep us updated if you manage to get it!

The server gods in our company have, for reasons unknown to me or other
affected parties, again moved one of our major "applications" from one
server to a new server. As a result, all of the hyperlinks in the
spreadsheets have to be changed to refer to the new server/path. Each
spreadsheet may have upwards of 400 links to documents on this server, so
you see the impact that this change has.

Is there a way to define the server/path once in a spreadsheet, like
assigning it to a symbolic name (like a drive letter), and then using that
symbolic name in the hyperlinks?

When they did this previously, a few years ago, I searched for a "scan and
replace" utility, but found none (that were free, since that was my budget)
that would do this for hyperlinks.

Advice / suggestions welcome.

TIA,
Dan
