The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Very odd ... you're quite right. When I visit a link in the archive with that link, the CPU usage for firefox pegs at 25% (dual CPU, both with HT).
Using Firebug (thanks Alfred), I was able to determine that search engine highlighter I was using was chewing up a lot of CPU power.
Clear your cache and try the search again.
